Because, no matter whether you wear a robust aviator watch, a precise chronograph or a timelessly elegant classic on your wrist: each Laco has a unique character, which is distinguished by the love of detail and passion, with which our watchmakers built it: with complex and sophisticated craftsmanship.
Hand craftsmanship instead of industry is the credo of the German’s brand. That was the way it was when the company was founded, in 1925, and it’s more relevant today than ever before…

PRESENTATION
The first thing that any hobbyist will notice is probably this dull black dial, on which is superimposed indexes bright green and daring, allowing easy reading of the time. This punchy green is obtained by a well known component called Luminova, delivered here in its best version: the Superluminova C3. This component phosphorescent but non-radioactive, allows optimal readability in multiple conditions, especially in the darkest corners …
Looking attentively at the dial, we notice that the indexes are not the only ones to be treated with this component, but that the hour, minute and second hands are also equipped with them.
Another interesting point, this male jewel is equipped with a crown of a relatively large size, almost disproportionate. The watchmakers as well as the designers of the brand have made the choice to remain faithful to the air watches of the Second World War, benefiting from large and thick crowns …
This detail was a sine qua non for pilots wielding the controls and the handle with thick gloves, which had to be able to reassemble their watches or set the time, without having to remove their equipment.
Finally, we appreciate the stainless steel of great strength, highlighting with the greatest success the brushed case of the watch, as well as sapphire crystal deemed scratchproof.
Germanic manufacture: Nippon Movement
The Laco Melbourne 42 mm is equipped with a well-known movement, the Miyota 821 A. It is solid and can be used for automatic winding of the watch but not only: it also has manual winding and a stop-second.
The first allows a winding movement via the crown located at 3 o’clock; turning it vertically.
The stop-second meanwhile, guarantees a total stop of the seconds hand when the crown is pulled two notches.
Finally, we will appreciate one last detail; which is a real pleasure for any lover of beautiful mechanics, namely a transparent box case. This allows the wearer to observe the mechanism in any condition … And at any time: Enjoy!
