Thomas Earnshaw is revered as a legend and pioneer in the field of watchmaking. Born in Manchester, England, in 1749, he was famous for his work in refining and improving the marine chronometers of the time. These were the marine chronometers, crucial to the voyages of Royal Navy ships as they scoured the globe in the golden age of English history of science and exploration. None more than Chronometer no. 506, worn by HMS Beagle which took Charles Darwin on his trip around the world to inspire his groundbreaking study of evolution, “On the Origin of Species”.

PRESENTATION

With a semi-open blue dial redesigned in depth, the design of this watch offers us at first glance a very unique and contemporary style, with a 40 mm case excluding the crown, to the delight of the wrists of medium and large sizes.

What a real pleasure to continuously observe each beat, each gear that this automatic watch reveals to us … Rotor, barrel, balance, hairspring … all components can be observed, studied or stopped by the wearer of the timepiece at any time.

Details

Looking a little further on this dial, we notice a second round of the index, strongly reminiscent of the tachometers of chronograph watches, where the brand’s logo is engraved at 12 o’clock, as well as the inscription “Automatic”.

But this timepiece could not come close to excellence without this beautiful touch of flashy red, brought to the end of the second hand.

Originality

Stop-second, manual winding, mineral glass, crown marked with the brand’s logo come here to crown this most impressive timepiece …
