Presentation
The first thing that any hobbyist will notice is probably this matte black dial, on which is superimposed indexes bright green and daring, allowing easy reading of the time.
Looking attentively at the dial, we notice that the indexes are not the only ones to be treated with this component, but that the hour, minute and second hands are also equipped with them.
Another interesting point, this male jewel is equipped with a crown of a relatively large size, almost disproportionate. The watchmakers as well as the designers of the brand have made the choice to remain faithful to the air watches of the Second World War, benefiting from large and thick crowns …
This detail was a sine qua non for pilots wielding the controls and the handle with thick gloves, which had to be able to reassemble their watches or set the time, without having to remove their equipment.

The Laco Aachen 42 mm is equipped with a well-known movement, the Miyota 821 A. It is solid and can be used for automatic winding of the watch but not only: it also benefits from manual winding.
This function allows a winding of the power reserve by the crown at 3 o’clock, offering the opportunity for the owner of the timepiece to recharge its movement… even when the watch is not worn.

The watch is perfect and new from Laco. The service from Conteenium was top not! Couldn’t be happier.
Note to others, the description is outdated. The movement on the Aachen was updated last year from the Myota 821A to the Myota 82S0. They ship now from Laco with the 82S0 which is better suited to this watch. Nothing wrong with the 821A, but it has a calendar function that the watch face doesn’t utilize. That means the crown has a phantom position to adjust the date (again, you can’t see the date). The new 82S0 does not have a date function, so there is no phantom position on the crown.
The description should be updated for clarity, but no big deal. The 82S0 is the better movement for this watch, which is why Laco updated to it.
