ALPINA REGULATOR LIMITED EDITION

The name Regulator – which could translate to “regulation” was not chosen by chance. Because this Alpina, also known under the code name AL-650NSSR5E6, is an incredibly innovative watch for its time, intelligently combining know-how and public knowledge.

This is one of the brand’s rare (really) waterproof watches, resistant to 100 meters or 10 atmospheres, thanks in particular to its rotating bezel. In addition to giving it a sporty style, this technology offers the advantage of total resistance, avoiding any breach between the crown and its case.

This Alpina watch from the Regulator collection lives to the rhythm of an extremely precise AL-650 automatic movement (which actually comes from a Sellita base). Its robust stainless steel case 45 mm in diameter, 13 mm thick, gives it a “Sporty” look that will appeal to fans of racing-style timepieces …

The straight lines of the hands and indexes reinforce the aviator style of the watch. As for the colors, a contrast of several shades of blue brings a new style to the dial, which combines successfully with the darker bezel and the leather strap. This all makes the design of the case original and paradoxically very current

The readability of the indexes and hands is accentuated by a Luminova treatment; a non-radioactive and phosphorescent component making the time reading readable, even in the darkest corners …

The appearance of this automatic watch is deeply marked by two characteristics that make it unique:

– The sapphire crystal, made in Switzerland, is both domed and reinforced. We also find the engraving at the back of the case mentioned above.

Finally, there is a date complication at 3 o’clock, still very useful on a daily basis.
