Each REC watch includes unique pieces recovered and recycled from iconic and irreparable cars. A concept that the Danish team has named RECOVER, RECYCLE, RECLAIM – or REC, for short.
Due to patina variations in recycled dials, all REC watches are visibly unique, have their own story to tell and include references to the design of the car from which it is derived.

The RNR Collection is a mechanical watch featuring a dial cut straight from a salvaged 2003 Land Rover Defender, The RNR Rockfighter is a tribute to the raw functionality of this legendary Defender. – owned by 4×4 Experience and German gentleman Michael Ortner. He uses this specific car as a tool to scale the steepest mountains and cross the deepest coves on his many adventure trips around the world. This 2003 Defender has traveled to Sardinia, Corsica, Iceland and Morocco. To name just a few of the many countries he has seen.
A UNIQUE HISTORY
The many adventures and trips that Michael had with his close companion, the 2003 Land Rover Defender, left their mark on his faithful climber. In 2019 he needed a new door – but instead of throwing away the old worn out left aluminum door, which was the gateway to so many adventures for Michael, it was given to REC Watches.
NO CAR HAS BEEN DAMAGED
DURING THE CREATION
The RNR Rockfighter was developed in close collaboration with Michael Ortner, the owner of our organ donor in 2003. Every aspect of the design reflects the function and aesthetics of the classic Land Rover Defender.
Captivating Land Rover’s design DNA has been in development for many years, and the first sketch of what would become the Rockfighter came to light in the fall of 2018. Capturing Land Rover’s iconic hallmarks while designing a timepiece that can stand completely on its own has not been an easy task. The Land Rover’s imposing and majestic form factor has been reduced to a 40mm timepiece that pays homage to the British icon.
ENGINE
The SW200-1 automatic movement in the RNR collection is supplied by the world renowned manufacturer, Sellita. With an average power reserve of 40 hours, you will never run out of energy!

For orders between $100 and $1,500, you can choose from several convenient payment plans:
