REC WATCHES RNR BEACHRUNNER

The RNR Collection is a mechanical watch featuring a dial cut directly from a salvaged Land Rover Serie III, The RNR Beachrunner is handcrafted from the roof of a 1981 Land Rover Series III – property of the photographer and Portuguese filmmaker Daniel Espirito Santo and close and personal companion of an artist living in the present (and for the most part, in his car).

A UNIQUE HISTORY

With an uncompromising approach to life, Daniel spends most of his days on the beaches of Peniche, Portugal, in his constant pursuit of that one, a perfect wave – photographing images along the way. The RNR Beachrunner is a testament to the laid back lifestyle of owning a classic Land Rover.

NO CAR HAS BEEN DAMAGED
DURING THE CREATION

After making contact, we soon found out that his beloved Land Rover needed a new roof. The constant salty winds and salty water dripping from its surfboards had slowly but surely eaten away at vital parts of its roof. What had once been Daniel’s metallic cover on his countless adventures and nights has become the dial of a new and complex machine – the “face” of the new RNR Beachrunner watch.

Captivating Land Rover’s design DNA has been in development for many years, and the first sketch of what would later become the Beachrunner came into being in the fall of 2018. As always, there is no predefined formula or approach that defines the process. We’re constantly adding and constantly cutting, working tirelessly to distill the essence until only the best parts remain encapsulated in pure passion.

The SW200-1 automatic movement in the RNR collection is supplied by the world renowned manufacturer, Sellita. With an average power reserve of 40 hours, you will never run out of energy!
