Each REC watch includes unique pieces recovered and recycled from iconic and irreparable cars. A concept that the Danish team has named RECOVER, RECYCLE, RECLAIM – or REC, for short.
Due to patina variations in recycled dials, all REC watches are visibly unique, have their own story to tell and include references to the design of the car from which it is derived.
REC watches are a perfect blend of distinctive styles, subtle references, high-end handmade components and truly unique tales!

The RJM contains a fragment of world history in the form of an untreated piece of aluminum coming directly from a Spitfire PT879 MK IX aircraft. It is the world’s first mechanical watch combining the recycled aeronautical material of an authentic Spitfire with both the design of the aircraft itself and the watches worn by the RAF pilots of that era.
REC RJM 02
Presentation
The RJM series is an iconic edition of the British brand REC. Made from recovered parts of aircraft (Spitfire Mark IX serial number PT879).
Miyota 9015 caliber movement suggests a nice complication: a small second is housed, offering maximum visibility to the hour hand and minutes! This movement from the Miyota manufacture is also visible on the back, thanks to a transparent caseback.
The rotor decoration on the RJM is inspired by the metal rivet construction of the Spitfire.
Finally, the date display at 6 o’clock is a subtle complication … but still useful.
Details
The hand-made, untreated aluminum dial comes directly from the wings of the Spitfire PT879 MK IX aircraft. Each dial highlights the original marks and bumps of its dealer, the Spitfire aircraft. This means that each dial is visually unique.
The structure of the RJM 02 dial is inspired by the “airspeed indicator” of a Spitfire aircraft. the design of the RJM dial reflects both the experience of sitting in a Spitfire aircraft, but also inspired by the watches worn by the RAF pilots of that time.
Another exciting detail: the serrated crown located at 3 o’clock is four “holes” on the tip indicate the number of rotor blades Rotol Spitfire MK IX first introduced on the MK VI (Type 350). The four-bladed propeller was 10 ft 9 in (3.27 m) in diameter and was in a propeller pan.
Easy to grasp and perfectly proportioned to the case of the watch, it highlights with the greatest success the case of 40 mm covered with a mineral glass.
Finally, fans will appreciate a real leather strap lined in calf leather, offering a solid and comfortable on the long run: enjoy!
