The 901 collection is a mechanical watch with a dial cut directly from a recovered Porsche 911. Each timepiece has a unique rendering and story.

Paying tribute to the 1960s Porsche 911, the dial is made from vintage pieces by the German manufacturer, offering several references to the legendary Porch Classic, which date is located at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock or these indexes on the way of iron resuming the design of a speedometer …

NO CAR HAS BEEN DAMAGED
DURING THE CREATION

The two founders of REC watches are as fanatical about watches as cars. Therefore, no cars were damaged in the recovery process. The REC watches only use used cars that are good for breaking … and therefore irreparable.

The very shape of the 901 collection is strongly inspired by the soft corners and the characteristic rear grille of the iconic Porsche 911.

“In September 1963, Porsche presented to the public at IAA Frankfurt the model that succeeds the 356, the Porsche 901.

The mass production of the 901 began in September 1964. When Porsche introduced this vehicle in October of the same year at the Paris Motor Show, the French car manufacturer Peugeot was challenged by the designation of the model and vetoed that -this. The reason given: Peugeot had filed the three-digit model designations with a 0 in the middle.

Porsche renamed its 901 in 911. This combination of figures corresponds to the emergency number in the United States and was already well known in this important market for Porsche. Until the name was changed, 82 copies of 901 were produced in total.”
