MEISTERSINGER METRIS

Sundials have always communicated the time thanks to a single hand, which was in fact only a shadow moving on a graduated surface. It was not until the middle of the 13th century that the second minute hand appeared on the dials of our watches, then later that of the seconds.
To do what ? In 2001, Manfred Brassler, founder of the Maison MeisterSinger, wondered. On contemporary timepieces, each second seems to pass more quickly than the previous one, and reading the time sometimes becomes an anxiety-provoking act which prompts us to see a continuous scarcity of time.
Going back to the origins of watchmaking – with monowells that have made their reputation, MeisterSinger watches remind us that time passes often, much more slowly than it seems …

Metris, or metricus in Latin, is a unit of measurement used in metrology to determine a meter. And what better chrono meter than this new series offered by the German watchmaker MeisterSinger in search of a contemporary line to add to its collection of single-hand watches.
Robust, this model stands out brilliantly from the rest of the brand’s productions thanks to a dynamic case and a conical side.
Single hand … but multitasking
Equipped with a 38 mm wide round case and a bezel so thin that it is forgotten, this mechanical timepiece presents smooth and refined lines giving it a modern look with a retro air.
Its dial with indexes written in a functional and legible typography, is swept peacefully by a single hand which, thanks to the 12 interstices placed between each hour, communicates the exact time to the wearer of the watch …
Installed on a 20 mm stitched leather strap, this watch sublimates an elegant outfit as well as a casual look.
A brand for rolling mechanics
This MeisterSinger automatic watch will delight watchmaking enthusiasts, and has nothing to envy to the brands of the Swiss neighbor. A true concentrate of technology and history, it combines an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement with a design that is instantly recognizable.
The ETA movement has its origins in the heyday of Swiss watchmaking in 1972, and has since been produced in millions of copies. It beats at a frantic rate of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour which makes it very precise over the long term, with an average power reserve of 40 hours.
Finally, at 6 o’clock you will find a date window on a white background, easily adjustable by pulling the crown one notch.
A MeisterSinger automatic watch:
an uncompromising choice
The 21st century undoubtedly marks the big comeback of medium-diameter wristwatches. The Metris collection with its domed sapphire crystal is the perfect illustration of this. This watch icon will easily find its place in your collection of timeless timepieces or will delight the person who receives it as a present …
