The LIP Churchill T18 watch, also known by its code name 671444, is a true historical piece of the French brand. The production of the Type 18 caliber began in 1935 just before the 39-45 war. During this conflict, the company moved to central France, then south, to Valence. At the end of the conflict, LIP returned to Besançon and rebuilt its factory. The “T18” then leaves the workshops. Very modern caliber with its small seconds counter, an all-gold model was offered to Sir Winston Churchill in 1948.

Design
The first peculiarity of the LIP Churchill is undoubtedly its reinforced glass, giving the case a convex front face. It’s a classic mineral glass that has been chosen, It offers a good visibility to the movement.
Once worn, the rectangular case embraces the wrist with great ease, allowing the watch to slide easily under a slim-fitting shirt or a tight-fitting sweater at the forearm.
The blue leather strap is timeless. You will probably appreciate the high-end ardillon buckle, allowing a quick wrist setting of the timepiece.
Famous movement
The caliber Ronda 1064 has a complication located at 6 o’clock, offering the bearer of the timepiece a small second.

The T18 a handsome watch with plenty of vintage style and a legitimate historical pedigree. This makes it stand out from other Tank watches in this price bracket which are mostly homages to the Cartier Tank or JLC Reverso.
The finishing is very good and quite practical for everyday wear, with its polished bezel and brushed case. I got the blue handed version which nicely contrasts with the sliver dial. The only downside to the blue handed T18 is the strap which is very slim and comes in a glittery plasticky blue. I recommend swapping it out (I changed mine to brown crococalf strap.)
It was my first time buying from Conteenium and the overall experience was very good. I appreciated the free (and quick) international shipping, as well as, the responsive service. I definitely recommend them and will very likely be buying another Lip watch from them in the future.

Great art deco watch. I have been wearing it with jeans and a tshirt and it looks great. I bought this model for the blue hands and immediately took off the blue strap which was a bit shiny for my liking. I stuck it on an 18mm grey epsom leather strap and it looks absolutely fantastic.
