The Iron Annie Cockpit is more than just a watch; it’s a proof of character. Also known by its code name “5156-5“, this atypical style Cockpit Watch will take you back in the middle of the 20th century, when aviators in search of thrills, favored a readable, robust timepiece a foolproof precision.

Discover the Iron Annie 5156-5, this automatic watch of character, proudly stamped “Made In Germany”.

Iron Annie Cockpit 5156-5
Presentation

The first thing that any lover will notice is probably this matte cream dial, on which is superimposed indexes of a bold and bold black, allowing easy reading of the time. This punchy blue is obtained by a well known component called Luminova, delivered here in its best version: which allows an optimal readability in multiple conditions, especially in the darkest corners …

Another interesting point, this male jewel is equipped with a crown of a relatively large size, almost disproportionate. The watchmakers as well as the designers of the brand have made the choice to remain faithful to the air watches of the Second World War, benefiting from large and thick crowns …

This detail was a sine qua non condition handling the controls and the handle with thick gloves, which had to be able to reassemble their watches or to adjust the time, without having to remove their equipment.

Finally, we appreciate the real leather strap of great strength, highlighting with the greatest success the brushed case of the watch, as well as sapphire crystal deemed scratchproof.

Germanic manufacture; Nippon Movement

The Iron Annie Cockpit is equipped with a well known movement, ETA 2824-2. Solid proof, it allows an automatic winding of the watch but not only: it also benefits from a manual winding and a stop-second.

The first allows a reassembly of the movement via the crown located at 3 o’clock; turning it vertically.

The stop-second meanwhile, guarantees a total stop of the seconds hand when the crown is pulled two notches.

Finally, we will appreciate one last detail; which is a real pleasure for any lover of beautiful mechanics, namely a transparent box bottom. This allows the wearer to observe the mechanism in any condition … And at any time: Enjoy!
