Briston is a French brand born from a very British spirit. From the dreamy spiers of Oxford and Cambridge and boat courses passing cricket and polo grounds, this sporty chic spirit has been the epitome of British style since Queen Victoria. This chic-yet-casual lifestyle and occasional quirky side were also a great source of inspiration for the “preppy” style born at Ivy League universities on the east coast of the United States. The Briston Streamliner Skeleton watch is a code breaker. With its original design, contemporary look and use of innovative materials, the French brand quickly achieved remarkable success in France since its debut in 2014; then across the Atlantic, in Europe and finally in Asia, where the watchmaking company quickly developed. A feat achieved in just a few years thanks to a visionary: Brice Jaunet, founder of the brand and former Zénith, Baume et Mercier or Cartier…

It must be said that its acetate case with impeccable details does not go unnoticed. The designers at Maison Briston had the brilliant idea of working with innovative materials such as cellulose acetate or polished steel to create this chic, elegant skeleton style with a British style.

But the other innovation that did not leave the Conteenium team indifferent concerns the brand’s bracelets. These have been intelligently designed by the team in charge of innovation:

“While the classic bracelets found on the watch market are generally made up of two parts attached to the watch via spring bars, Briston offers nylon, rubber or leather bracelets in one and the same outfit!”

So, the nylon bracelet is just a piece of fabric, which slips like a Nato under the pumps resting on the horn between the two! This rapid interchangeability system offers the watch wearer a wide choice of colors and materials to replace their bracelet according to the desires and the seasons: this, in a few seconds!

Under the hood, we find a movement signed Miyota: the famous Caliber 8N40 which has proven over the years its robustness and reliability. This movement also has a date window at 3 o’clock, and at 6 o’clock we find the name “Streamliner Skeleton”.

On the cover this time, we find a dial protected by a sapphire crystal, reputed to be scratch-proof by the manufacture, which bears the minutes marking around its edge. Everything is finely protected by a case with a diameter of 42 millimeters and 12 millimeters thick, with a screwed and transparent back, which lets us see the oscillating weight in action…
